Signing documents

Document signing texts someone a link to fill in and sign a PDF or Word file. When they finish, TextWork can start a follow-up conversation.

Connect signing

Open Company Settings, then Integrations, and open Document Signing. Choose Connect.

Pages, then New Page, then Signing template opens the same place.

Upload a document

Under Upload a document, click to upload or drag in a file. PDF and Word (.docx, .doc) are accepted, up to 25MB. TextWork detects the fillable fields.

The file shows up under Your documents. While detection is running, the row says Detecting form fields. When it finishes, the row says how many fields it found.

Click the document name, then Refine fields, to adjust what was detected. Rename changes the name in the list.

The document can be sent once detection is finished.

On Schedule a message, hover a person and choose the clock. Under Insert, choose Signing doc and pick the document.

The message includes [application_doc_url]. When the text goes out, that is their link to fill in and sign.

A Send message action has the same Signing doc control, so the link can go out when a report is completed. See Get notifications.

After they sign

On the document, Follow-up when completed chooses a script to start when the signed copy comes back. No follow-up leaves it there.

If you pick a script, Opening message when completed is the first text of that conversation. It is sent as you wrote it. Leave it blank and the script writes the opener.

The document row shows how many signed copies are on file.
