Email that becomes a report

Mail to an address you set up lands as a conversation and a report, the same way a text does.

Add the address

Open Company Settings, then Channels, then New Channel, and choose Email.

  1. Connect Resend. Paste an API key from Resend, under API Keys. It needs full access so TextWork can register the receiving webhook. Choose Connect.
  2. On Choose your address, type the local part and pick your domain. The domain has to be verified in Resend, with Receiving turned on. Under Script, choose the script that reads each email and fills the report.
  3. TextWork checks the domain, receiving, and the webhook. The button reads Add, then your address. Choose it when the checks pass.

The address is listed on Channels. Open it later to change the script.

Where the mail goes

Mail from someone already in your directory files on that person and also shows in the inbox. Mail from everyone else files on the inbox itself. Newsletters and obvious spam from strangers do not reach the assistant.

Open the channel's settings to change who owns the report. The choices include filing everything on the inbox, letting teammates own what they forward, or creating a contact for every new sender.

The report shows up on that person's timeline, or on the inbox, the same way a text report does. See Read a report.
