Connect with MCP

TextWork MCP server

Turn your texts into answers.

Connect your AI assistant to TextWork. Ask about reports and transcripts in plain English, then read the saved fields and the thread behind them.

Works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and compatible MCP clients.

Try asking your assistant

Sites

“Which sites had a cleaning issue this week, and who reported it?”

One person

“What did Elena report about the break room?”

Screening

“How many screens failed on schedule last month?”

Your assistant only sees reports and transcripts from the company you sign in with.

Connect your assistant

Add TextWork as a remote MCP server in your client. Sign-in uses this URL over Streamable HTTP.

MCP server URL

https://textwork.co/api/mcp/mcp

Requires a TextWork account. Build your agent if you do not have one.

ClaudeRecommended when supported

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL, and sign in with the phone number on your TextWork account. We text you a code. There is no API key to copy.

Claude Code and Cursor

For Claude Code, run this, then run /mcp and sign in when it asks.

claude mcp add --transport http textwork https://textwork.co/api/mcp/mcp

For Cursor, add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then click Connect next to textwork in Settings → MCP.

From a quick question to your daily workflow

Ask about the reports and transcripts your texts already produced. The assistant reads them. It does not take anyone’s place in a thread.

Scripts
List the scripts your company runs, with the names your assistant needs to ask about the right reports.
Search reports
Find saved reports by date, script, person, or a value in a field. The newest matches come back with a report id.
Read a report
Open one report and read who it is, which script it came from, and the fields TextWork saved.
Read the transcript
Read what was actually said in the thread behind a report, when the fields are not enough.

You choose the access

Connecting signs you in as a person on your account. Your assistant can read that company’s reports and transcripts, and nothing else.

  • You sign in with the phone number on your TextWork account. We text a code to that number, and there is no API key to create or paste.
  • Every call is limited to that company. A report or transcript from another company is not returned.
  • This is read only. The assistant cannot text anyone, start a conversation, or change the account.
  • Access lasts an hour, and your assistant can refresh it for 30 days. Disconnect in Settings → Integrations → Claude to sign out every assistant connected to your company.

A few useful details

▶What is the TextWork MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. The TextWork MCP server lets a compatible AI assistant read your company’s scripts, reports, and transcripts, so you can ask about them from a chat.

▶Which AI assistants can I use?

Any client that supports a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in. Claude, Claude Code, and Cursor all do, and the setup for each is on this page.

▶Do I need a TextWork account?

Yes. The phone number you sign in with has to belong to a person already in TextWork. If it does not, sign-in stops after the code.

▶Can my assistant text someone or change my account?

No. It can only read reports and transcripts for the company you signed in with. It cannot send a text, start a conversation, or edit anything.
